Good news

Small island in this bay has marine life as rich and diverse as a cliff at the Poor Knights MR, now rated as world's ninth best nature site.

The diversity of fish life in this Bay is outstanding and well worth protecting. Great News

Hope this shows that there is potential to convert the same area into another Marine Reserve. Plenty of other areas in the bay of islands to fish and dive for a feed (which we do a lot of!). Would be nice to have a dedicated area to just take pictures.

Two years of no-take will provide an opportunity for the community to draw breath and subsequently move to a permanent reserve. Hopefully the area will restore itself quickly within the two years so that the benefits can be appreciated. The Minister of Conservation declined the Akaroa marine reserve and this is a worrying political decision that has created many dismayed people. We need many potential sites to be put up for reserve consideration so best wishes to the organisers of Fish Forever.

To see samples of another bidder who declined to be named with a knowledgeable, set a price for each vehicle, higher than the price he would fold decisively.
